Welcome to Changing Aging in the Granite State, I'm Allison McNair. More than a quarter of a million people in NH are enrolled in Medicare. As baby boomers age, it's likely that number will double in the next twenty years. What do you know about Medicare? If you're like many people, not enough. Not knowing the basics of the program makes it difficult to understand how you can benefit from it. Our goal today is to dispel some of the myths about Medicare and build a foundation of understanding. Joining me are David Certner, Legislative Counsel and Legislative Policy Director for Government Affairs at AARP. Becky May is the center manager for ServiceLink in Portsmouth, NH. Dr. Tom Clairmont is an internist/geriatrician also from Portsmouth. Welcome.
Helping out today is our audience, some of whom will ask questions for each of you.
Before we get in to the nuts and bolts of the program, we delighted that a special guest is going to give us a brief overview of Medicare. Take it away Willem!

We're going to take a moment and head out to the streets, where NHPTV's Heather Ross asked people for their thoughts on Medicare.

If you think we've only scratched the surface on this topic, you're right. There's more to explore online at NHPTV.ORG/Aging. Now, I'd like to thank our guests, David Certner, Becky May and Dr. Tom Clairmont as well as our studio audience and of course Willem Lange for providing the overview of Medicare. I'm Allison McNair, thanks for joining us for Changing Aging in the Granite State.
